Suggest GMT to A Friend

This is an open thread to collect comments for the Green Media Toolshed. We use these comments on our website, as a reference for other groups and in our sales and fundraising material. While we would love you to help us with a big donation (really we do need to raise money for these tools) we know that many nonprofit communication staff don't have big bucks. A quote really helps.

Please give us the good stuff. Please add your comments and include your name and organization.

Too bad the nifty comparisons at www.scorecard.com are not accurate. I compared San Diego County (92126) with the more rural farming community of Brookings, South Dakota (57006), and both had the same terribly poor rating for animal farm runoff.

But San Diego does not HAVE animal farms to speak of! In a county of 3,000,000 peole that is bigger than Rhode Island, we have maybe a handful of chicken farms, and perhaps a dairy herd somewhere.

Apparently the GIGO principle applies here. I wish I could trust the rest of your data, but obviously it is unreliable.

The training provided by GMT’s staff is so thorough while also being easy-to-follow. Building a relationship with media professionals has never been easier. Shannon Pederson, P.R. Director, Center for the Advancement of the Steady State Economy

GMT makes outreach and communications much easier. On the media side, the Vocus database access practically saves us a staff position. And the media web tool that we're in the process of integrating into our website will ease access to our press materials and contacts. On the outreach side, the web based photo database is a great tool that is of use not only to our organization, but smaller grassroots groups around the country as well.

With Green Media Toolshed I can spend the bulk of my time developing and executing media strategies for my clients, instead of fussing over the mechanics of the job. Building and maintaining lists of journalists, finding visuals to support a campaign, collaborating with other grassroots media professionals has never been easier! After 2+ years I am only now begining to use all the tools available to me. I look forward to utiilizing more of what GMT has to offer.

Green Media Toolshed is an amazing service and has clearly helped up take our media work into the 21st century. From helping us to build a media room, to organizing our contacts and opening a slew of doors for us we have been able to garner media stories nationally and regionally that we could never have done without them. This is an excellent service that I highly recommend to all of my peers. We could not have gotten to where we are today without them. Thank you!
