Moving Ideas Shuts Down

Moving Ideas will soon be, sadly, no longer. Because of lack of funding, they are ceasing operations at the end of January. Take a moment to check out their site before it shuts down at the end of the month.

This is a great site and has gotten a lot of traffic. So it will be very unfortunate when it goes offline. The site touched on all types of issues, from environment to civil liberties to media and culture. It had a great list of interesting and informative blogs from the progressive community and other links to online news services, magazines/newspapers, etc.

Moving Ideas also held great brown bag lunches and strategy sessions. You can read about some of these in previous GMT blog commentary. The lunches touched on everything from blogging to voting rights.

It certainly is very disheartening to learn of Moving Ideas unfortunate closing. The progressive community is losing a great network.
